Small Sustainable Notes

Hey, I’m Isabella. I’m a polymath. I pivot a lot. Existentialist — which means I think you don’t discover your passion, you create it. Every problem and project I choose to wrestle with isn’t self-discovery. It’s self-construction. Topics find me when they become a problem.

I call them learning projects. I document them here.

Two problems I keep coming up against:

How to learn anything without formal education. I’ve taught myself French and Russian. I’ve studied accelerated learning, digital minimalism, low carbon living, and ethical travel. Podcasts, books, and my own observations have taught me more, and far faster, than any classroom did.

How to live car-light in a place designed to make that near impossible. I live in a Utah suburb. I bike to work. I take the train into Salt Lake City. I’m learning what it feels like to move through a place without a metal box.

The method: encounter the problem, choose it, research it, build a project, experiment, document. Problem-centered learning. Repeat.

This blog is for people who learn by doing and want to live with less — less carbon, less distraction.
