Moved back to Utah in January and so happy!
On the regular: Riding my e-bike, strength-training, working, podcast listening
Listening: “The War on Cars” podcast, “Green Dreamer” podcast, “Armchair Expert” podcast
Watching: “Bugonia,” “Bonjour Tristesse,” “The Pod Generation”
The sustainable mobility industry [e-mobility, micromobility, AVs, ride-share solutions, transit-friendly initiatives etc.] has become very exciting to me. I have noticed my interest taking shape three or four years ago when I moved to Utah. I started driving my car less, renting a scooter, and taking transit.
Last January, I started consuming content about it in the form of books, articles, and podcasts. It’s been so fun! I found a podcast, “The War on Cars” that I’ve been binge-listening to, read articles on TreeHugger, and finished the book “How Cycling Can Save The World” by Peter Walker. After podcasts, I will switch back to audiobooks, most of it on car culture, bicycles, and the future of transportation.
In addition to continuing to ride transit, I commute to work by e-bike. Being a car-lite person, I haven’t driven my car in 3 weeks and only drive it around the neighborhood to do a few errands in order to keep the engine going. I hate my car and have no intention to drive it on the regular (for environmental and monetary reasons). I changed the name of this blog because I intend on writing more sustainability-focused posts.
Also, I switched to the Punkt phone as my main phone line! Punkt is a dumbphone that prioritizes privacy and allows me to solely text and call. I am hoping to use it to become more comfortable on the phone which, as an introvert, is still a challenge. I love everything about the philosophy of Punkt and the supposed trend of being anti-smartphone. I still have my iPhone, but it’s more of a tool. Punkt is helping me to not text as much which is what I wanted.
Just finished reading articles on practical matters [how to wash laundry properly, wash my wavy hair properly, apply eyeliner, the best foods for each phase of my cycle etc.] that I saved on Instapaper last year. I then saved the best ones on Notion. Took notes and put them in a Text file. It’s been super helpful to refer back to. I had no idea I was doing laundry wrong or wearing the wrong makeup colors for example.
